We’ve been preparing for spring since last fall. As you know, the pandemic has caused colossal challenges for everyone. Without a doubt, the supply chain is our industry’s greatest issue. Today, manufacturing times have jumped from 8 or 10 weeks to 20 or even 26 weeks. Post-manufacturing acceptance is currently 4 weeks. In most cases, the main causes are:
- Difficulty in raw material supplies
- Labour shortages and shipping issues
- Lack of available containers
Skyrocketing container prices
Container costs have risen from $3,200 USD to $18,000 USD. This is a huge increase and presents an enormous challenge in terms of supply AND price control.
